## Authentication

No authentication required. The designmd.app API is completely public. No API keys, tokens, or registration required. You can start making requests immediately.

## Rate Limits

- API endpoints: 30 requests per minute per IP
- All pages: 60 requests per minute per IP
- Rate limit headers included in all responses

## API Endpoints

### GET /api/styles

List all DESIGN.md styles with pagination and filtering.

### GET /api/styles/{slug}

Get full DESIGN.md content for a specific style.

### GET /api/styles/{slug}/token

Get only the YAML design tokens for a style.

### GET /api/styles/{slug}/content

Get only the markdown content for a style.

### GET /api/search

Full-text search across all DESIGN.md files.

Download the full OpenAPI 3.1 specification to generate client SDKs and explore the API interactively.

## Sandbox Environment

The production API is safe to use for testing. All endpoints are read-only and return the same data as the live site. No write operations, no destructive actions, no rate limit concerns for reasonable usage.

## SDKs & Libraries

Generate client SDKs from the OpenAPI spec using openapi-generator or similar tools.
